Lew Rubens Does it right

DarlingEvil and I are very fortunate. We live in an area with an active BDSM community that strives to educate its members. Through the years I’ve seen many presenters come in to share their knowledge. A very, very few have left me with so much as Lew Rubens.

Some of you may be familiar with Lew’s work. He currently operates the Site www.boundndetermined.com where his amazing and innovative rope work is on display.

Earlier I mentioned that Rope was never a big priority in my play; for DarlingEvil it’s a passion.  She loves the feel of rope, she loves tying people, suspending them and playing with her helpless victims.

Imagine how she felt when Lew taught her how easy it was to suspend someone my size…or larger?

It’s an experience I look forward to seeing her post. But imagine…a whisp of a woman easily suspending a person twice her weight and nearly a foot taller?

We had been studying rope for a few months prior to the class and had learned enough to boggle our brains.

What Lew taught us in those 16 hours simply blew our minds. Amazing. We’re still processing it.

Thank you Lew.

Men in Kilts Energy Pull

Roll back many weeks — my friend MindnBody approached me about doing an Energy Pull. I was excited about the prospect and accepted without any hesitation.

Our variation was simple: two needles in each back, tied off at a central point. We would pull back-to-back and improvise from there. Neither of us are small men, but I had visions of MindnBody dragging me around the scene area like a little man-doll.

We got the hooks, needles and required supplies. The date was set. SLCKink kindly agreed to handle the piercings and safety the scene while DarlingEvil was ready with the camera.

“The Men in Kilts Herculean feats of Man Strength Energy Pull” was born and set for a Saturday play party in February.

I’ll say this…the actual piercing was the most painful part, but was not particularly bad. As with most situations where needles are involved, it’s much easier to imagine the worst. The feeling was a definite rush…seeing the hooks sticking out of my own back made me laugh.  As a test I had a few people tug on them.

The twinge was definitely there. I wondered how it would feel to have the pull of two bodies stretching my skin.

Oddly? It felt like a pull-string to focus. The further in I leaned, the deeper into a calm center I went. Pain was minimal and distant. Muscles flexed and strained as I fought to keep my position. I leaned against the pull of MindnBody’s body. Feet anchored, arms outstretched, I leaned forward — trusting and letting go.

Down deep and centered, the world frayed away as two points in my back became all that defined the passing moments. There was no pain. There was no panic or worry. There was energy passing through four hooks, straining cord and two individuals. Nothing else mattered as I floated, leaning forward in a static fall.

This is an experience I recommend to anyone. Amazing and surprisingly powerful…spiritually intense and incredibly personal. The words I’ve placed here do little to describe it.

Bondage Restraints

Rope was a pain in the ass – it drove me nuts. Even before I was invited to leave the “Boy Scouts” I hated working with ropes and knots. Tedious, memorization, crap knowledge vying for the limited storage space in my already crammed head.

Then came kink.

I opted for traditional and non-traditional restraints. Some of my favorites were faux-fur lined restraints I picked up at a local pet-shop. On and off in seconds, sturdy, easily connected to carabiners and chains. Their main drawback was DarlingEvil could slip out of them in no time.

I began looking seriously at making some very evil leather restraints.

Then came the rope. . . and the conversations.

Do not get me wrong here and don’t get your “wadding” panties at the ready. This is not a Manifesto about the “Death of Traditional Restraints in the Modern BDSM Community”. Until they make Leather Flavored (and scented) rope I think we’re safe.

Rope is a beautifully versatile thing. It’s cheap, it comes in a nearly limitless selection of sizes and colors and styles and you can tie it to almost anything! As a restraint device it is incredible.

Best of all…if someone decides to walk away with your $5 rope? Well…it’s a lot better than someone walking away with your $105 leather cuffs.

I have forced myself to put away all of the restraints. They’re in a big metal box, where I cannot easily get at them. I will not use them for now. Instead I will get into the habit of using my rope and my knots.

Now, I still want a pair of those leather bondage mittens…I can’t do those with rope…

Here, stick this in your cock

It’s no secret I’ve got a pretty intense interest in Sounds. I’ve never tried them, but have always wanted to. I’ve also been learning the “How” behind the technique. Men, women — requests made to play with these twisted metal sticks.

This last weekend a friend gave me one of his Rosebud sounds. He didn’t like the feel of it, but I’d expressed an interest in their design. I took a long look at the thing’s bulbous head.

“You stuck this thing in your cock?” I asked.

He nodded. A woman standing beside me laughed.

The bulb was almost as thick as my pinkie finger!

“I recommend you start with something smaller” he added.

Lew Rubens, rope and bondage

DarlingEvil and I attended an amazing workshop this weekend taught by Lew Rubens. DE and I will do an in-depth write-up a bit later, but it’s worth mentioning how much we learned!

I’d done 1 suspension before this class. My rope skill consisted of this:

By the end of the class I was doing this:

Amazing. We learned Safety, technique and some amazing rope work!

Thank you Lew! And thank you to ALL who put this class together.
