Creativity Fail

Tutivillus

I am a very creative person – specifically a writer (among other things). Unfortunately, as I go merrily along my way, there are the occasionalblack holes where the muse falls silent and I stumble.

I fall.

Right now. Here, in these long moments? I'm suffering from loss of muse. This could be due to the upcoming NaNoWriMo. It could be the stars. It could be impending doom. Who knows!

Anyone else?

What's your cure?

Actually, let me suggest a trip to Moab! I remember now why I always love the (not too crowded) solitude - After standing, sun on face and wanting to tear off clothing to embrace the persona that is my ID, I repeat, Moab - Creativity Central!
  • Heheheh...I used to go down there several times a year. DE and I try to make
it down there at least once a year, but alas...not this year.

I agree. Perhaps a trip South and Red is in order.

It's not that I lack inspiration, more that my thoughts are often disjointed in such a way as that when I start pursuing a thread, it peters out part way through. I have several incomplete works in progress that I revisit. It allows me to occasionally complete in mass, or at least add a few words. The problem I find with this approach though is that if I don't leave notation about where I'm heading with a subject I can totally change the initial flow and that's not always a good result.

If all else fails, I stop, play and bounce ideas off trusted friends :) and there's always porn!

My muse is a fickle being myself. When I have the time to create, she is nowhere. Only when Im at work or in a predicament where I cannot stop my current task, does she show up.
  • Aye.

Work is not an issue. I push a LOT of words at work. It's the outside where
I have the creative issue. Just have the Creative Numb. The Bleh. Out of
    Fuel. Nadda. Silence. Void.

That's why I wonder if it's simply the time to find silence and not
    think...just "do".
