On Kink and Commerce
Aren't you always amazed by that light in the eyes of the newly initiated when the truth hits home that some would use their love for kink to earn cold, hard cash?
I'm not. Not any more.
There isn't even a register when the tears fall and a quavering voice tells tales of use and abuse by some supposed leader(s).

Like all of life, the predators are out and they're earning your skin and taking your money! How can you possibly protect yourself? Hide? Run? Stay in your homes and hide behind your father's petticoats?
Nah, that's not necessary. Just stop being a bunch of gullible dumbshits!
You have a vast potential to become commerce to a great many people. Whether it's by the dollar itself or by body count, you *can* be kept, sold, bought, traded, used and discarded if you are not aware. Just stop being stupid! It's really that simple folks.
If you meet someone who is too good to be true, they probably are.
If someone (or some group) tells you they are the Only Way, the source of knowledge, the true path to the community at large? Bullshit!
If you feel something is not right and that feeling is telling you to get out? Listen and act!
If you are told that love and kink can never go hand in hand? Fuck.That – then get the fuck away from the vapid moron who had the gall to waste the breath with that statement.
If a person or group tries to split you from your partner in order to teach you the "true" way of deeper kink? Well, does that sound right? Really?
If you give money to a person or group and the use of that money is not transparent? (e.g. Where does it go, how is it used, are the "books" open to the membership at large?)
If money for events is supposed to go to charities or specific causes, ask for proof! If you are denied that proof, well, don't give them your money!
If you are asked to provide a service for a local Community event that will be raising/charging money, ask for a modest fee – do not do it for free (do not be excessive with your fee, just have your expenses covered!). If they will not pay, do not do it!
If you are providing materials to that group that is your Intellectual Property, PROTECT YOURSELF and your property! Have contracts and pens in hand. If those agreements are broken, pursue the matter legally.
These are only some of the lessons I (and others) have learned through hard knocks.
Pay attention and sharpen up.
