A funny thing happened while recording this episode. The dog (yeah, a real dog who wanders about the house while we record these podcasts) knocked over the recorder. We caught it, but didn’t realize we’d hit the pause button. So this episode cuts off at around 49 minutes.

So you’ve been there, done that and got the T-shirt. Bored? Well who’s fault is that exactly?

I have tried a few fun things in my journey into Kink, by no means an extensive sampling yet, which leaves me a veritable cornucopia of experiences as a Top. If I should get a hankering to try a different perspective I can always try a slice of submission (don’t hold your breath!!).

However, of the things I enjoy and feel I have some talent for, occasionally certain aspects have almost seemed mundane  recently where I feel I’m  ’just going through the motions’ (something my playmate does NOT deserve to suffer). I don’t think I was truly aware of  this until the last play party I attended (I’ve had a few burdens to carry recently in all fairness to my creative streak). Anyway, I’m chatting to my partners in crime, when a mummification scene starts right next to me. An accomplished member of the community whose creativity I’ve seen parts of on occasion, he has some clingy wrap, a volunteer and my partial attention (I’m still talking with friends…. but I know he plays with style).

Now, the wrapping proceeds, the fun begins, and my attention becomes glued, my own conversation falters as I’m concious of  the noise level dropping in this section of the play space.  I was torn initially between some edge play also taking place and this mummification. Not for long though as what followed was simple, creative and very intense. I don’t think there was a dry sub in proximity to the scene, and I’m sure the volunteer enjoyed it. Kudos to the Top and his playmates.

Invigorated, mentally refreshed, and re-enthused I came up with a few variations on some themes I already had. A few minutes of voyeurism goes a long way folks, so pay attention to your environment. Sometimes a Gem is just arms length from creative realization. As for being bored or going through the motions, I’m over it already and back on the pathway to tormenting my playmates as normal service is resumes.

It is time to Calibrate. I’ve re-defined much of my Kinky-self this past 52 weeks. Why not tick through the various lists and solidify a few of those changes?

When, how and do you revise your Kinks?

Part 1 was an Idea Roundup.

This time we’re going to talk a bit about space.

When making your own dungeon you have to make the best with what you have, since most of us don’t have the luxury of making a custom dungeon from scratch.

Here, my friends, are a few of the basics to consider:

1. Is this going be a “Transparent Dungeon”? Meaning: Once your done with dirty deeds, do you need the space to easily transform into something harmless?
2. What are your main activities going to be? Meaning: If you love suspension, your needs will be different than someone with a love of fireplay or a love of throwing a single-tail.
3. The “Touches what make it special”. Meaning: Sound-proofing? “Dexter” brand kill-room plastic wrap? Fire extinguishers? IP Cameras?

Once you’ve defined the vision, it’s time to make the plan. Write it down, draw it, gather your resources and start.

Here’s the beauty of a home Dungeon…you can always revise! Start simple and build up.  Do it in stages, it doesn’t have to happen all at once.

The brain is wandering with the seasons today. As Fall approaches, I start thinking of darker scenes. Those visions and fantasies in action that push Western psyche past Taboo — into squirm and fear.

I have visions of shifting one or two witnesses into cluster-fuck overdrive.

Planning? Yes. But I’m one who strives for simplicity. I won’t make something into a Circus Sideshow unless that benefits the scene itself. That’s sometimes done to cover a Dom’s lack of skill – cheap paint covering a bad build. Simplicity adds to the impact itself.

Now. Where will the wander lead?

And which scene comes first?

Saturday Night.

10pm – Gather everything, grab a couple of Sweet Teas and drive.

Something I should have done…tie the rope before hand…that would have saved more time for shooting.

10:25pm – Arrive at location: a pretty much abandoned parking garage. Cars scatter the various levels. There’s a van being loaded at the dock. I’ve been watching this location for some time…no one uses the roof level.

10:35pm – After blowing precious time on rope, we’re ready. DE and I walk to one of the elevator buildings. I call the elevators to our floor, cuff and tie her – the shoot begins.

10:45pm – We leave.

If you don’t have handles installed…you make them.

Terror Play.

If ever you plan on opening this door, remember that it starts during your initial negotiations with the sub/slave/etc.

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about.

I am a careful negotiator and I take my time. I use notebooks to document the conversation.

Likes, dislikes, limits (soft and hard), reactions…and that’s where the key to Terror Play lies.

You can learn more about a submissive by their reactions to a subject than you can by their words. If their skin flushes, their pupils react, their fingers twitch? If their bodies react involuntarily? You know you have something.

I write that down and mark it. After a few minutes I re-visit, gently probe that subject. I put a “T” next to it if there’s a possibility of Terror Play.

Later, if TP never pops on the Hard Limit list and isn’t a non-negotiated Soft Limit?

WHAM…that list comes out to play.

A funny thing happened during the recording of our upcoming Episode 9 of the DungeonPlace FetishCast.

I had to make a serious decision about a serious topic.

As we were discussing the topic it became very apparent the dimensions of what we were talking about were far more personal than the original “headline” suggested. It’s pretty normal for a discussion to go a bit off the rails…but in this case we laid down our own track and built a brand new station!

After sitting with the discussion for a few hours (and an email and a discussion or two) it became obvious there was a decision to be made.

DarlingEvil and I talked it over and decided to pull the entire topic and discussion from the Podcast.

Never thought I’d do that.

This was a civil discussion. We’re not talking scandal or revelations of destruction. What made this decision necessary was the fact that this Podcast has become much larger than we thought. It’s International.

As such we sometimes have to look at the impact of what we’re discussing. Is it relevant to the larger audience? And will it negatively impact the Community we live in?

In the end, those two questions held the larger answer.

Furries

Furries. Love ‘em, tolerate them or run screaming from the room…any way you take them you have to admit – they’re fascinating.

We don’t see many at our parties and I often wonder why.

We get pretty much everyone else in almost any configuration imaginable…so, why no Furries?

I believe (and correct me if I’m wrong here) that because they’re a subculture of their own, the Furries have disassociated from the BDSM community while the suits are on.

Now…when the suits are off? Well, then who would know!

I did find an interesting Site explaining (to the Furry community) BDSM party etiquette. So obviously the desire/curiosity is there.

Another component? It seems the Furry community has a large percentage of kinky gay members. Many areas have an odd split between gay kink and pansexual kink. Why? I don’t quite know…I love both worlds and don’t quite understand the division.

Opinions? Thoughts? Corrections?

Needless to say, I ended the evening with 16 staples and pretty yellow ribbon. I was pleasantly surprised, and loved the sensation. I gleefully claim that I crave more of these “sensations” as I move down this path. It makes me think and ponder this one question “Why did I wait so long?”

Minions – I love the sound of the word and I love the thought of having them. I like the thought of twisting it around a bit and making something new. I don’t want a “follower” (that brings up images of a brainless thing…definitely don’t want that!)

I do want someone to do (or be subject to) my bidding – but not a slave.

The very first play party I attended was in a community house. Each room had been converted into an encapsulated playspace.

@DarlingEvil and I were sitting in Olive Garden waiting for our order and watching a summer storm crash against the mountains. It was Friday night – busy, noisy, but completely tolerable.

I began explaining a scene I’d been thinking out but realized my words were lacking. I didn’t have my Moleskine handy, so I grabbed my phone and drew out the Scene in Evernote.

(Yeah, it’s a very basic drawing…but that’s okay. There was also a bit of Comedic commentary running along with it.)

I love drawing out Scenes while I’m planning. I usually sketch them in my Moleskine then snap a picture and upload it to Evernote. But in a pinch? It’s nice to draw them out on the phone itself. (No, this isn’t a paid ad.)

A bonus? I handed this around to several people (a.k.a. victims) and they actually interpreted the drawing without much explanation.
