Saturday Night.

10pm – Gather everything, grab a couple of Sweet Teas and drive.

Something I should have done…tie the rope before hand…that would have saved more time for shooting.

10:25pm – Arrive at location: a pretty much abandoned parking garage. Cars scatter the various levels. There’s a van being loaded at the dock. I’ve been watching this location for some time…no one uses the roof level.

10:35pm – After blowing precious time on rope, we’re ready. DE and I walk to one of the elevator buildings. I call the elevators to our floor, cuff and tie her – the shoot begins.

10:45pm – We leave.

My involvement was a complete surprise, since the Scene began while I was doing my turn as a DM and was relieved before the Scene ended.

I speak of a fun scene I tested out this past weekend.

Seemingly simple. In reality? Not so much.

This is part of the fun involved in creating and taking risks. My sub for that scene was marvelous (and her partner most generous).  Even though bits and pieces fell to chaos, it was a blast and her feedback gave me the fuel needed to refine.

New knots, new clips, a slightly different layout for the ropework.

For me this isn’t about perfection…it’s about expanding knowledge, experience and adding moments.

And, of course, it’s about having fun – if that ever stops, then it will be time for me to quit.

This is work. This is hard work.

I have a good friend. He has 2 girls. It is becoming routine for he and I to bounce questions, ideas, thoughts and general philosophies off of each other. In short, we’ve become a 2 man support team.
