Portable, easily concealable Suspension Tripods are a goal sought by many a Kink! There’s a Great discussion going on over at Fetlife about them.

This really is a cool bit of technique for anyone interested in building a basic, portable suspension rig.

MindnBody is one of my favorites, and I’m proud to call him my friend. DarlingEvil and I have done several scenes with him, photographed several. His specialty (although, it’s only one skill in a vast arsenal) is Rope.

The very first play party I attended was in a community house. Each room had been converted into an encapsulated playspace.
Terror play, needle play, flogging, rigging, fisting, sounds, electical play, knife play…. From Thud to Snap to Edge it was there and I was in overdrive.
The scene that I remember most was done on a bed suspended from the ceiling. The sub had at least a hundred needles running through his body. Each needle was carefully tied with delicate line which was fastened to various points above the bed. The needle portion alone was hypnotic, but I laughed aloud when the sadistic fun really started.
The Domme gently began swinging the bed back and forth, each line pulled on each needle.
The sub groaned – deep, low, long. Skin pulled along his frame as the bed tensioned various bits.
Scenes like those make impressions. They define. They make us either run or grin.
This one made me think, drove me to learn and propelled me forward.
There’s always a whole lot going on. Wander between rooms to see the various works. Listen to the sounds of play.
It’s always interesting to see the takes on ropes, needles, fire, floggers, single tails. And I retrospect on what I do and wonder…”where’s the new?”
So I look deep. I eye common things sideways and wonder how they’d bend. Inspiration could come from anywhere and I want it. I want to see and do something new.
DarlingEvil and I are very fortunate. We live in an area with an active BDSM community that strives to educate its members. Through the years I’ve seen many presenters come in to share their knowledge. A very, very few have left me with so much as Lew Rubens.
Some of you may be familiar with Lew’s work. He currently operates the Site www.boundndetermined.com where his amazing and innovative rope work is on display.
Earlier I mentioned that Rope was never a big priority in my play; for DarlingEvil it’s a passion. She loves the feel of rope, she loves tying people, suspending them and playing with her helpless victims.
Imagine how she felt when Lew taught her how easy it was to suspend someone my size…or larger?

It’s an experience I look forward to seeing her post. But imagine…a whisp of a woman easily suspending a person twice her weight and nearly a foot taller?
We had been studying rope for a few months prior to the class and had learned enough to boggle our brains.
What Lew taught us in those 16 hours simply blew our minds. Amazing. We’re still processing it.
DarlingEvil and I attended an amazing workshop this weekend taught by Lew Rubens. DE and I will do an in-depth write-up a bit later, but it’s worth mentioning how much we learned!

In light of Centering, I’m engaged in battle with various bits of my body and the world around it to fight off this year’s version of The Plague. I don’t have time for it. I don’t want it. I will not yield.
So I sleep, I take care of myself (as one should when faced with Plague) and attempt to quaff various concoctions whose origins lie somewhere between Witchcraft, Voodoo and Marketing.
I’m also centering around various aspects of planning. For the sake of focus I’ll stay on topic and try not to spin too far off the subjects you expect for this venue.
The two prime targets are Scenes I’m involved in as “victim”. An “energy pull” and a “suicide suspension”.
The pull is fairly easy to plan for. Get hooks, get piercing needles, get stuck and have fun. Manly displays of Herculean Feats of Strength are always good times…especially since the other victim and I will be in kilts.
No word yet on the fishnets.
The suspension is proving to be a bitch of a different name. The hooks and needles are easy. The rigging is easy. The location is easy. The knowledge is…well, that’s been some study, talking to a few of the “right people” and then simply do (hoping it’s done well). But there’s this damn piece of equipment used as a balancer. It goes from the lines coming from the needles to the rope being used in the suspension – keeping everything centered and even.
That’s hard to find. So I’ll probably have to have it made.
Planning. It keeps me busy and keeps the Plague at bay.
“I want to put a paper mache head on someone who’s been suspended and turn them into into a Pinata!” I said as the ropework began.
Nick_M turned from a knot and piped in “We could stick candy in their ass!”
It was an impromptu scene. DarlingEvil and I had talked about the whole Pinata idea earlier that evening. Now it was partially coming to fruition.
No, we didn’t get a chance to stick candy up her ass and hit her with the foam bats.

Nick_M and MindnBody did the hard work. Watching the banter between DE and those two was hillarious. Once DE was up te floggers and torture began. At one point Nick_M took the DM duty from me and let me play with my suspended darling.

I know DE will be writing about this soon, but damn, it was a fun scene to be a part of.
DE acts as both submissive (on loan) and Rigger in two different scenes. She’s nervous…very. Mostly about the suspension she’s doing with MindnBody’s help. He and I have no doubt…she’ll suceede splendidly.
I am taking my girl to the party, scening with her and conducting a nice, solid flogging on another girl.
DarlingEvil wanted a rope corset. She approached our friend MindnBody, (a Daddy) who is gaining a strong reputation for his skills, and negotiated the scene at a play party.
While I was DM’ing, she began the lengthy process of getting fitted for her new corset.
Rope play is a patient art. I popped in when I could over the next hour or so to view the progress. Red and black rope bound her torso, her breasts. She stood patiently as MindnBody worked. I was finally able to take some pictures and spend time enjoying the result as they finished.
