Want to make a Suspension Tripod? Here’s how!

Tutivillus

Portable, easily concealable Suspension Tripods are a goal sought by many a Kink! There’s a Great discussion going on over at Fetlife about them.

If you are willing to spend a bit of cash (not much, really) and take the time to learn, here’s the basics you’ll need to know.

BondageLessons.com has a rundown on the materials and techniques. See the page Here.

YouTube has a great video showing us all how to tie a tripod. I’ve included it below.

This really is a cool bit of technique for anyone interested in building a basic, portable suspension rig.

Just remember…BE CAREFUL!! And you do this at your own risk. Any suspension is dangerous and DungeonPlace.com takes no responsibility for your actions.

Have fun!

MindnBody – What’s in your bag?

Tutivillus

MindnBody is one of my favorites, and I’m proud to call him my friend. DarlingEvil and I have done several scenes with him, photographed several. His specialty (although, it’s only one skill in a vast arsenal) is Rope.

(An example of MindnBody’s work (a scene he rigged with the help of Nick_M))

I asked him to share with us what he carries in his Rope Bag. Most of his rope comes from the notorious Twisted Monk (That man really needs to sponsor this Site…)

Finding the New

Tutivillus

357

There’s always a whole lot going on.  Wander between rooms to see the various works. Listen to the sounds of play.

It’s always interesting to see the takes on ropes, needles, fire, floggers, single tails. And I retrospect on what I do and wonder…”where’s the new?”

So I look deep. I eye common things sideways and wonder how they’d bend. Inspiration could come from anywhere and I want it. I want to see and do something new.

And I want to ask…

Where do you get your inspiration for Scene work?

Flogging a Moving Target

Tutivillus

Flogging a Moving Target is fun.

This Scene was created by the collaboration of Mindnbody and NickM with their mad rigging skills. Their victim? Of course it was the beautiful DarlingEvil.

My involvement was a complete surprise, since the Scene began while I was doing my turn as a DM and was relieved before the Scene ended.

MindnBody was busy working DE as well. Floggers, canes, quirts…for DE it was a scene that pushed her as she’s not one who’s keen on high pain.

I’m thinking it was the rope. She IS keen on rope. Rope is a smile and a tonic in her kink DNA.

Such a fun Scene…I think we need to do it again soon. Perhaps as a wedding gift.

Lew Rubens Does it right

Tutivillus

DarlingEvil and I are very fortunate. We live in an area with an active BDSM community that strives to educate its members. Through the years I’ve seen many presenters come in to share their knowledge. A very, very few have left me with so much as Lew Rubens.

Some of you may be familiar with Lew’s work. He currently operates the Site www.boundndetermined.com where his amazing and innovative rope work is on display.

Earlier I mentioned that Rope was never a big priority in my play; for DarlingEvil it’s a passion.  She loves the feel of rope, she loves tying people, suspending them and playing with her helpless victims.

Imagine how she felt when Lew taught her how easy it was to suspend someone my size…or larger?

It’s an experience I look forward to seeing her post. But imagine…a whisp of a woman easily suspending a person twice her weight and nearly a foot taller?

We had been studying rope for a few months prior to the class and had learned enough to boggle our brains.

What Lew taught us in those 16 hours simply blew our minds. Amazing. We’re still processing it.

Thank you Lew.

Bondage Restraints

Tutivillus

Rope was a pain in the ass – it drove me nuts. Even before I was invited to leave the “Boy Scouts” I hated working with ropes and knots. Tedious, memorization, crap knowledge vying for the limited storage space in my already crammed head.

Then came kink.

I opted for traditional and non-traditional restraints. Some of my favorites were faux-fur lined restraints I picked up at a local pet-shop. On and off in seconds, sturdy, easily connected to carabiners and chains. Their main drawback was DarlingEvil could slip out of them in no time.

I began looking seriously at making some very evil leather restraints.

Then came the rope. . . and the conversations.

Do not get me wrong here and don’t get your “wadding” panties at the ready. This is not a Manifesto about the “Death of Traditional Restraints in the Modern BDSM Community”. Until they make Leather Flavored (and scented) rope I think we’re safe.

Rope is a beautifully versatile thing. It’s cheap, it comes in a nearly limitless selection of sizes and colors and styles and you can tie it to almost anything! As a restraint device it is incredible.

Best of all…if someone decides to walk away with your $5 rope? Well…it’s a lot better than someone walking away with your $105 leather cuffs.

I have forced myself to put away all of the restraints. They’re in a big metal box, where I cannot easily get at them. I will not use them for now. Instead I will get into the habit of using my rope and my knots.

Now, I still want a pair of those leather bondage mittens…I can’t do those with rope…

Lew Rubens, rope and bondage

Tutivillus

DarlingEvil and I attended an amazing workshop this weekend taught by Lew Rubens. DE and I will do an in-depth write-up a bit later, but it’s worth mentioning how much we learned!

I’d done 1 suspension before this class. My rope skill consisted of this:

basic hogtied sub

By the end of the class I was doing this:

Amazing. We learned Safety, technique and some amazing rope work!

Thank you Lew! And thank you to ALL who put this class together.

Night of Firsts #2

DarlingEvil

Mindnbody had offered to do my first suspension and it was a good time as any since I was feeling quite adventurous after the electro-play.

This sadistic alpha rigger was patient and instructed me on where I would feel pressure according to weight distribution. My breath compensated for the binding around my breasts.  I was concerned I would feel restricted, but discovered it was very sensual being bound.

He asked if I would like my hands free or trussed up. I chose to have them tied and he gladly did so above my head.

I closed my eyes as I was raised high into the air and it only took moments before I was in sub-space. I became unaware of all my surroundings other than my own body and the touch of my rigger.

I was swung about and hoisted high until I flew like a bird. It was beautiful and exhilarating.

For my first time suspension, it was perfect. I even left with some nice rope marks!
